Summary: Stiles discovers the hazards of growing up a real boy when, at heart, he’s not a real boy at all.

 

*shrugs* Well, if I’m doing Supernatural fic and Teen Wolf fic, why not do a crossover? I have to admit, that whole AfterElton poll kind of pissed me off, since I had so many people fighting on my dashboard over whether Teen Wolf was better or Supernatural was better and after a while, I just unfollowed people because it was annoying me so much.

They work so well together in this fic. I need the fandoms to love each other, not fight.

Still, the main reason I love this fic is demon!Stiles, and his journey. I love his callousness at the beginning, how everything is so clever and so unfeeling (somehow reminding me of both Sherlock and a little of Good Omens–which has been done), and he’s just seduced into being human because there are feelings. Admittedly, it makes me a bit sad to think about what’s going to eventually happen–I’m assuming werewolves aren’t immortal, though I suppose technically demons aren’t either. I guess dying together is sort of a happy ending.

I like how the Supernatural world was integrated in–that of course a pair of wandering hunters might happen to wander into a city run by werewolves, and of course Crowley would be looking into any other prominent demons on Earth. It’s not a big thing, just a few details here and there, and the idea that, hey, maybe there are these areas that the Winchesters visit that have their own stories going on, or hey, maybe events going on outside Beacon Hills could eventually come crashing over.

The second story didn’t grab me at first. I liked what the author does with Derek, and his warring feelings–that he’s been hurt before, that he’s trying not to get taken in again, and yet he wants to believe Stiles might be better. Still, the first half of the story was stuff we read before. The second half was much more fascinating to me–laying the traps and educating the pack. I think what I’ve always liked about Supernatural was the accessibility of hunting–that, like any other form of study, if you dedicate yourself to learning the languages and the plants and the items, you can gain power. It’s not something you necessarily have to be born with. I’m a nerd; this appeals to me.

Then there’s the bodyswap/possession sex. That’s unique. Probably not a kink I’d search for, but kind of fascinating.

In fact, that reminds me of another fic I just read…
