Summary: For the prompt: At some point or another during the movie, Loki loses his staff. One of the Avengers consequently gets a hold of it and discovers that “subservient” is a good look on the God of Mischief (this is after, of course, they find out that tapping someone on the heart with it turns a person completely docile)

 

I wonder how I missed this when I posted An Eye for An Eye? That’s really the fic that should be paired with this one. Somehow this fic manages to be even darker than that one.

I like that Clint’s revenge is never made completely explicit, but the way he talks and acts tells you everything you need to know. He’s hurt, and while I can side with Tony chastising him and encouraging him not to be vengeful, at the same time, it doesn’t make Loki into a pitiable, pathetic figure. He’s very much in control, and he doesn’t feel bad about using Clint, or Tony.
