Title: A Distraction of Planetary Proportions
Author: tristesses
Fandom: Star Trek
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Earth/Vulcan
Warnings: explicit sex (het)
Other notes: anthropomorphism, a bit of crack, politics, solving problems by throwing sex at them, kink meme fill
Length: 6k
Summary: Terra does not comport herself as a planet should. She smiles, she laughs, she is overly involved with her humans, and she won’t stop touching him. Vulcan should disregard her presence entirely and concentrate on his diplomatic affairs, but she is very…distracting. He does not realize that this is merely the beginning.
Every time I read this I read it as a Sarek/Amanda fic. I think Earth is a bit more flirtatious than Amanda is usually written, but there’s a lot of good fic, especially in the XI ‘verse, about Amanda and Sarek courting.
Aside from that, this is a delightful little read. Sexy, smart, playful–must like Earth herself. I wonder if the “Earth mother” and “fertility goddess” stereotypes are still stereotypes if the woman in question is, in fact, Earth?
Also, props for making political negotiations interesting. With sex.
(Looking for more fic recs?)
