Oh man, I rarely rec fluff. Or anything G-rated. I think fluff and PWP are among the hardest fics to review. No, let me revise that. Crack, PWP, and the fluff. Those are the hardest, because they mostly depend on how you feel and how the reader feels. Crack depends on your sense of humor completely. I’ve seen stuff that made me laugh to the point of shaking, and stuff where I could not understand a single word of the fic. PWP mostly comes down to “hot or not.” And fluff is, well, unrelentingly cute and happy and goofy.

But, eh, I ran across this one in a fluff list, and, well, it’s super adorable, and it’s really friendly. There’s no character bashing at all, which was kind of an issue with season 3 of Sherlock and the fandom response. This is probably one of the least problematic fics I’ve seen set within season 3.

It’s kind of entertaining how much Sherlock empathizes with the baby. He doesn’t understand how babies work, but at the same time, so many of his own traits are echoed by the baby. I did like that Sherlock was more terrified of changing nappies than doing an autopsy. Heh.

Although it does, quite nefariously, suggest that I might enjoy babysitting, that it might be cute and less awkward and annoying than it truly is, and that–that’s just evil.
