Summary: Nyota regarded the empty driveway with a considering gaze. “Maybe they’re going in to listen to Hard Harry.” She sucked in a quick breath. “Maybe Jim is Hard Harry. The timing would be about right.” Spock’s eyebrows lifted, then she laughed at herself. “No, Jim’s too happy to be Hard Harry. That guy hates the world.”

I haven’t see this movie either, though the Wiki article reminds me of the Korean film My Boss My Hero (not to be confused with the more comedic Japanese remake of the same name). I’m actually surprised that the scene that stuck out in my mind the most from this fic–Spock’s on-air confessional–doesn’t seem to be from the movie.

That particular scene is just–hard to read. It’s not nearly as explicit as other fics I’ve read–even other noncon scenes I’ve read–and yet it turns my stomach.

It’s odd. There’s a mixture of “oh, god, I wish high school could have been like this–that someone could cut through all the bullshit and misery for real” mixed with “thank god high school wasn’t this bad for me.”

High school was just a rotten time all around, I think.
