Summary: After the 27th’s Christmas party, Ray has a special evening planned for Fraser. It turns out to be more special than he could have imagined.

 

This is actually based off the same episode as Theories of Flight. I had this aside as a holiday rec without realizing they were connected. If I’d realized, I’d have waited to post Theories, but, eh. Read them together.

This is a pretty sweet fic. Got a good dose of Fraser angst, not unlike, say, Thermoform or A House on Fire.

I remember odd details about this fic–for example, that Ray puts “Smarties” in his coffee, where in other fics it’s “M&Ms” or even “chocolate candies.” Technically, both would be appropriate, since, from what I gather, Canadian Smarties are essentially American M&Ms.

I…well, this is hard to admit, but I don’t go crazy over Nutella (aka the chocolate hazelnut spread). I feel like I might be missing something with this fic. Fraser seems to adore it, ha. I’m only half-joking when I have ‘Nutella’ as one of the warnings. it might set off a bad craving in some folks.

There’s a lot of detail in this fic that makes it come alive–the whereabouts of everyone at the Christmas party and their gifts, the way Ray pieces together where Fraser is and what kind of holiday they could have together. It’s pretty warm and fuzzy by the end.
