Summary: Where Mycroft is an angel, Sherlock is a demon, and John is still John.

This was actually a late addition to the line-up. I actually read this fic before I read Good Omens. I’d meant to post it up when I was doing the GO fic, but I forgot it.

I love how so much of the fic has secondary meaning. Nearly everything Sherlock and Mycroft say to each other sounds completely in canon and innocuous–except that you know their identities and suddenly there’s this whole other layer added into everything that poor John isn’t picking up on.

Sherlock as a demon works perfectly well. Some people like to do the unexpected twists to character identities–I once read a fic that had Captain America as a demon (driving men mad trying to find the super solider formula that never existed in the first place) and Iron Man was an avenging warrior angel. But here, the author goes with the complimentary characteristics–Sherlock’s aloofness, his lack of caring, and his superiority all mark him as a demon, and a damn good one at that. And yet, when he meets John, things start to change. It’s all perfectly canon and yet new and interesting.

Also the ending is cute and hot.
